Where I Admit I am an Okie. AAAAAHHHH!

So:  PVT got some good news at work.  His role will change slightly; his pay will go up a bit; and now, for the first time in our twelve year marriage, I think he is actually pleased with what he is doing, and where he has ended up.

Which means:  I think I'm going to be an Okie indefinitely.

I'm very very happy for my husband; he went to school for a jillion and three years, is very bright (don't tell him I told you that), and has gone through quite a few detours he didn't ask for in his career.  But here he is, finally doing something that is pretty darn close to his ideal.

Why this picture?  Because.
My kids are thriving here.  And there is a certain peace in knowing (as far as anyone can know, I suppose) that this really is home.  That these are the schools my children will continue to attend, that our parish which has become such a source of peace and happiness for me will continue to be my church; and that these people I've come to know and treasure here will continue to be my good friends, my homies.

Well hello Oklahoma.

I will still gripe about the Hades-like summers here.  I will still sigh and snivel about the lack of shopping.  I will continue to pine for Evergreen trees, hills and endless lakes and water.  And the Mother Ship, of course.

But this is my wonderful happy life here, and I'm ready.  Bring it on.
